Fun Facts of the day via skatewise ..

1. If you read the OG Alien Workshop Logo backwards you’ll notice it spells Neil and if you turn it sideways you’ll notice the A is actually the letter B. Which is a neat lil hidden message from Alien Workshop founder Neil Blender.

2. The logo is in the shame of the Denny’s logo since it’s the first spot they had a meeting at.

Who knew? Guess ya learn something new every day, hah.

New spring park is so good that it makes me want to skate. I’m addicted again. I can only skate for an hour or so before my ankle gives out but it’s getting stronger.

Jordy killing it. Love this.

Too good. Not in the mix enough today. Don’t everybody like the taste of apple pie…

You think it’s cool to hate things. And it’s not. It’s boring. Talk about what you love and keep quiet about what you don’t.

Anonymous said: why does it bother you that they include gonz's shenanigans in the videos? i agree that non skateboarding activities should not be included in skate videos but c'mon, its the gonz! he is a legend (a real legend not an instagram "everyones a legend" type bullshit)

What’s bullshit is tolerating intolerable behavior just because of what someone did on a skateboard twenty five years ago.

Imagine if you came across a professional football player, 14 years removed from his last meaningful game, behaving like an insolent 14 year old. Then Imagine some dumb fucking twenty year old football fan trying to pass this wretched behavior as acceptable. Imagine watching this middle-aged former athlete harassing and antagonizing strangers on the streets of New York City, and listening to this woefully ignorant football fan try and explain to you that it was OK because in his day, nobody cut faster and tackled harder. Chances are you’d tell this FUCKING FAN BOY, and his deteriorating idol to GO FUCK THEMSELVES.

I am in no way opposed to Mark Gonzalez, his skating, or his legacy.

But I also believe the greatest disservice we can do to people like Gonz, or any of our idols, is to not hold them to an even decent standard of behavior. Videotaping and putting this behavior on display, cosigning it as acceptable, is not only a disservice to the Gonz, but it’s a disservice to the young skaters coming up, it’s setting a bad precedent.

I love skateboarding, but I think the industry is a terrible, racist, homophobic, intoxicated cesspool. And it’s time to abandon the corny suburban white-bread values left over from the 80s that pollute skateboarding.

He makes a good point.

We dont have better CEOs worthy of higher pay, we just have greedier ones that abuse their employees and suck the profits for themselves.
This goes hand in hand with the breaking of labor unions in America.
